Jackson Simmons leads Mustangs with 26 points and 24 rebounds

Friday was a wakeup call for the Smoky Mountain boys. Monday was nearly a nightmare. Future North Carolina walk-on led the Mustangs with 26 points and 24 rebounds in a hard-earned 55-53 win at West Henderson. Simmons also made five blocks, none bigger than when the 6-foot-8 senior stuffed a potential-tying shot from Falcons guard Jordan Bell (34 points) just before the horn. “It was a tough win. But at the end of the day, it's a win,” Simmons said. (Asheville Citizen-Times)
