UNC checks out SF Jarrod Davis

UNC assistant coach watched 2011 small forward Jarrod Davis (6-6, 193, Lakewood, NJ) Sunday and expressed interest in UNC recruiting him, according to Alex Kline of The Recruit Scoop via Twitter:

North Carolina assistant watched Jarrod Davis @JarrodDavis11 of Lakewood (NJ) today & expressed interest afterward.

Davis also mentioned to one of his Twitter followers that he's considering re-classifying to the 2012 class, since UNC only has one scholarship available for 2011:

NYcoach
@Jarroddavis11 - you still considering reclassifying to 2012 class?

Jarroddavis11
@NYcoach yeah its a 50/50 chance!

NYcoach
@Jarroddavis11 -oh, ok. UNC lookin at you for 2011 or 2012?

Jarroddavis11
@NYcoach 2012 only one scholarship left for 2011

Davis currently is ranked a two-star prospect by both Scout.com and ESPN.com.  However, ESPN says some nice things about Davis' versatility, athleticism and toughness in his scouting report:

"Davis is a natural small forward that can play power forward or shooting guard if needed. Jarrod displays physical toughness, a willingness to learn and carries himself well while experiencing adversity."

In addition to Davis, the Tar Heels currently have (at least) three other small forwards on their radar for 2012: 5-star Alex Murphy from Southborough, MA, 4-star Justin Anderson from Rockville, MD, and 4-star from Menomonee Falls, WI.
