North Carolina signs juco running back Stephen Houston
Posted Feb 2, 2011
North Carolina turned to junior-college football again to address a weakness and received a commitment Tuesday from running back Stephen Houston. Houston is a 5-10, 225-pound redshirt freshman at Independence (Kan.) Community College, where he played for Coach Steve Carson. Houston is from Little Rock, Ark. North Carolina had an immediate need for a running back in its recruiting class after one of its top targets, Savon Huggins of Jersey City, N.J., committed to Rutgers last Friday.
