Tar Heels survive Jackets' upset bid

North Carolina got its first win in Alexander Memorial Coliseum last night since took over, but not without a major scare. The top-ranked Tar Heels squeezed past Georgia Tech 83-82 to raise their record to 18-0 overall and 3-0 in the ACC. North Carolina had not beaten the Yellow Jackets at Alexander since Jan. 2, 2001, and Williams had not won in Atlanta since taking over as head coach in 2003. (Winston-Salem Journal)
