Adjehi Baru is full of surprises. Ask North Carolina head coach Roy Williams. Ask the rest of the Atlantic Coast Conference, Dick Vitale and the college basketball world in general. Baru, a tenacious and sculpted 6-foot-9-inch, 224-pound native of the Ivory Coast, rocked the sport in December when he rejected scholarship offers from North Carolina, Maryland, Virginia Tech and dozens of other elite programs to sign a letter of intent with the College of Charleston.
