Here’s a vote for Harrison Barnes, even though he’s not on this ballot

The U.S. Basketball Writers Association has announced the five finalists for its Wayman Tisdale Award, symbolic of the national Freshman of the Year, and there’s not a single ACC player among them. Chances are Duke’s Kyrie Irving would have made the list had he not gotten hurt and missed most of the season. But those things happen. What is a surprise is the omission of North Carolina’s Harrison Barnes. (Wilmington Star News)
