The Tar Heels, unloading 18 minutes of dominating, destructive play in the first half, powered to a 93-62 win. They went on a 25-0 scoring run in the first half, forcing the Wolfpack to miss 18 consecutive shots. They were ahead 43-13 at halftime and never led by less than 26 points after halftime. Junior Marcus Ginyard said that the Tar Heels had one of those games in which everything was working precisely.
