Tar Heels back on home turf for NCAA tournament opener

Posted Mar 17, 2011
After a one-year absence that contained more miserable days than coach Roy Williams could count, North Carolina is back in the NCAA tournament. The Tar Heels will begin pursuit of a sixth tournament national championship Friday, on familiar turf in their home state. UNC, the No. 2 seed in the East Regional, will play Long Island University, the No. 15 seed, at 7:15 p.m. at Time Warner Cable Arena. (Winston-Salem Journal)
