James McAdoo named Virginia Gatorade Player of the Year

Norfolk Christian standout James McAdoo was named Gatorade Virginia Boys Basketball Player of the Year for the second consecutive season. McAdoo, who will play at North Carolina next season, averaged 23 points, 8.7 rebounds, 2.2 steals and 1.9 blocks in leading the Ambassadors to their second consecutive state title. The award recognizes his athletic excellence, academic achievement and character on and off the court. McAdoo, a 6-foot-8 forward, has maintained a 3.72 grade-point-average.
