While Matthews Butler's Cierra Burdick, Cherryville's Terry Whisnant and Forsyth Country Day's Tyler Lewis headline The Associated Press 2010-11 All-State prep basketball teams for North Carolina, both Hoggard's Stilman White and East Bladen's Courtney Melvin represent Coastal Carolina on the list. White, a senior guard, led the area in scoring at 20.6 points per game. He shot 51 percent from the field for the Vikings and added nearly three assists per game.
