North Carolina trounces Marquette at The Rock

Buzz Williams called timeout one minute into the second half after North Carolina had opened the period with two consecutive fast-break baskets against his Marquette team. Jae Crowder promptly had his inbounds pass intercepted by Carolina’s Dexter Strickland, who turned the miscue into an uncontested dunk, and a 31-point lead. That sequence summed up the evening for 11th-seeded Marquette.
