Tar Heels lose Final Four spot to Kentucky
Posted Mar 27, 2011
After a season where almost everything — from style to personnel — changed about UNC’s game, they couldn’t overcome the last obstacle. But they came awfully close. A late-game surge by Barnes brought UNC back, and two Tyler Zeller free throws tied the game. But it would only last for about 30 seconds. A Brandon Knight trey put Kentucky back on top, and the Wildcats wouldn’t lose the lead again, defeating the Tar Heels 76-69.
