Look into Woody Durham’s eyes and you can almost see the moments again. Lawrence Taylor’s sack against Texas in 1980. Michael Jordan’s jump shot against Georgetown in 1982. Roy Williams triumphantly throwing his right arm toward the Detroit crowd after the 2009 National Championship game. Durham was there for all of those, and his colorful descriptions of the action made North Carolinians from all over the state feel like they were too.
