Jackson Simmons named All-WNC Basketball Player of the Year
Posted Apr 24, 2011
Most analysts are predicting that the Tar Heels will be the preseason No. 1 team in the country. Jackson Simmons is joining the defending ACC regular-season champions as a preferred walk-on. He has been named the Citizen-Times All-WNC Boys Basketball Player of the Year. “The great thing about all those guys returning is that I get a chance to learn from them,” Simmons said. “We're going to have a big target on us. From day one, I'm just going to go in there and work my butt off."
