New coaches, returning stars fuel optimism for ACC hoops in 2011-12

The clear-cut favorite is North Carolina. Roy Williams’ Tar Heels probably would have been the team to beat under any circumstances, based on a strong finish that took them all the way to the NCAA’s East Region finals in New Jersey. But they leapt to the head of the class – not to mention the preseason national polls – when stars Harrison Barnes, John Henson and Tyler Zeller all decided to stay in school for at least another year.
