Jackson Simmons signs with North Carolina

Roughly 150 fans, friends and family squeezed into Smoky Mountain High’s lobby this morning to celebrate as senior Jackson Simmons signed his letter of intent to play college basketball for North Carolina. The Mustangs’ all-time leading scorer (1,916 points), Simmons had initially committed to the Tar Heels as a walk-on but late last month was informed he’ll play on full scholarship next season.
