N.J. linebacker Dan Mastromatteo commits to UNC

All needed to make a decision about where to play college football was a visit to Chapel Hill late last week. Mastromatteo, a 6-foot-2, 215-pound linebacker from Atlantic City, N.J., committed to become the fifth member of UNC's 2012 recruiting class. "I had heard some great things about Chapel Hill before I went there," Mastromatteo said. "I said, 'If I love it, I'm going to commit.' When I got back (home), I didn't want to waste any time." Mastromatteo also had scholarship offers from Michigan State, N.C. State, Maryland, Illinois, Boston College, Cincinnati, Rutgers, Temple and Tulane. (Winston-Salem Journal)
