J.P. Tokoto’s Sacrificial Style

Trevor Trimble likes to talk of his stepson ’s burgeoning basketball career as a “story of sacrifice.” To keep Tokoto focused and humble while schools from around the country came calling, Trimble took some unconventional measures: Tokoto does not have a Facebook account or an email address. He didn’t get his first cell phone until after he had made his college choice, committing to North Carolina. Clearly, those off-court sacrifices have paid off. But what about Tokoto’s humility and sacrifices on the court? (ACC Sports Journal)
