Posted Dec 31, 2007

After playing "dumb" for a good portion of the first half, North Carolina smartened up after halftime against Valparaiso on Sunday night. "That one stretch may have been the best we've played this year," Tar Heels coach Roy Williams said. That one stretch was the period of about eight minutes when UNC outscored the Crusaders 27-2. The top-ranked Tar Heels ended up beating Valparaiso 90-58 at the Smith Center. (Durham Herald-Sun)
