Tar Heels' Kent Emanuel shuts out Texas 3-0

North Carolina rode the shut-down pitching of Kent Emanuel to a 3-0 victory over Texas that kept the Tar Heels alive Monday at the College World Series. The freshman left-hander limited the Longhorns to four hits in pitching the first shutout at the CWS since 2006. He walked one and struck out five in improving to 9-1, with three of the victories coming in the NCAA tournament.
