UNC-Texas Post-Game Notes

Freshman Kent Emanuel became the first pitcher to throw a complete game shutout in the CWS since former Tar Heel and current assistant coach Robert Woodard threw nine scoreless innings to beat Clemson in 2006. Emanuel's 4-hit, 1-walk, 5-strikeout performance was also the first CWS shutout by a freshman since LSU's Brett Laxton against Wichita State in the 1993 title game.
