Nerlens Noel hits a sweet spot at Peach Jam
Posted Jul 15, 2011
Nerlens Noel held a block party Wednesday night in the Nike Hoop Jam AAU basketball tournament, but when he came out for the opening tip, he found his view of the basket blocked by CIA Bounce’s 7-4, 330-pound center Sim Bhullar. “I knew it was going to be a little tough, but that’s when I knew I had to go to the state of my mind that I’m quicker and leaner than him and more agile,” said Noel, a 6-10 center for BABC who will be a senior this fall at The Tilton (N.H.) School. Noel, considered the No. 3 player in the 2012 class by ESPNU and the No. 5 player by Rivals.com, put up a triple-double with 13 points, 10 rebounds and 12 blocks in his team’s 58-55 win.
