Everett Withers named interim head coach at UNC
Posted Jul 28, 2011
Growing up in Charlotte, Everett Withers daydreamed about playing football at North Carolina. Now, he's the first African-American to ever be a head football coach there. The school announced Thursday evening that Withers, the Tar Heels’ defensive coordinator the last three seasons, will take over as head coach following the firing of Butch Davis. The 48-year-old will meet with the media at 3 p.m. Friday.
