Jacobs: Thorp Makes The Right Move


Rarely is it the wrong time to do the right thing. Certainly, taking action is better at some times than at others. But the fact the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill finally began this week to cauterize the wounds inflicted under ’ leadership is far more important than the fact the ax fell on the eve of preseason practice, or that the school will pay Davis up to $2.7 million to go away quietly and quickly.
