Batten: Thorp decision for UNC, not athletics


Facing a room packed with media on Thursday, Holden Thorp attempted to explain his decision to terminate while simultaneously accepting the early resignation of athletic director Dick Baddour. Thorp didn't succeed entirely in answering the burning questions. But what Thorp did make clear was his decision to fire Davis was not about UNC football or UNC athletics. It was about U-N-C.
