Tar Heels open practice, try to return focus to football field

Barely more than a week after coach Butch Davis was fired and replaced by interim coach Everett Withers and the fallout from the move still floating around the university community, the Tar Heels began the work of preparing for a 2011 season that begins in 29 days. Withers, previously the defensive coordinator, was the center of attention during Friday’s session (Burlington Times News)
