Theo Pinson: Local basketball celebrity and budding national star
Posted Aug 12, 2011
Forget that Theo Pinson reportedly already has college scholarship offers from Duke and North Carolina and N.C. State and Wake Forest and Georgetown and Kentucky and Tennessee and Connecticut and Syracuse. Forget that the 15-year-old already has slipped on a USA Basketball jersey and returned to his Greensboro home with a gold medal dangling from his neck. Forget that ESPN ranked him the No. 1 player in his class. Pay no mind to the rumors that he dunked on Grant Hill. Theo Pinson’s parents are reluctant to see too much attention come their son’s way, trying to tamp down the Theo-mania.
