Bryn Renner leads UNC to 42-10 win over JMU
Posted Sep 3, 2011
Behind an almost-perfect debut by sophomore quarterback Bryn Renner – who was 22-for-23 with 277 yards, three touchdowns (two passing, one rushing), and an interception through 3 ½ quarters -- the Tar Heels beat James Madison 42-10 at Kenan Stadium. It was a historic afternoon, as Withers, a Charlotte native, became only the fourth African American to serve as an ACC head coach in a football game.
