Bryn Renner produced the second-best completion percentage in NCAA history by hitting on 22 of 23 passes for 277 yards and two touchdowns, while Withers led the Tar Heels to a dominant win in his first game as head coach after 23 years as an assistant. “It was a seminal moment between me and Coach Withers,” Renner said. “We had coach Davis in our minds and in our hearts.”
