Greg Davis understands tender situation with Arkansas assistants

Greg Davis coordinated Mack Brown's offense at North Carolina in 1997 and was asked by Brown to come to Texas when Brown resigned to become the Longhorns coach Dec. 8. However, North Carolina played in the Gator Bowl against Florida State, and Davis coordinated the North Carolina offense for Carl Torbush. Davis coached UNC while still recruiting for Texas during the recruiting dead period.
