Bernard's run sparks Heels

When North Carolina's unloaded the ball to tailback Gio Bernard midway through Saturday's second quarter, the quarterback glanced up the field, and figured the freshman would make a 10-yard gain. Then Bernard broke a tackle, slipped underneath a bevy of blockers, and rushed to the end zone for a 60-yard touchdown to give his team an eight-point cushion. (Charlotte Observer)
