Tar Heels' goal: Win an ACC opener

North Carolina will try to snap a string of 10 straight seasons of opening ACC play by stumbling out of the starting blocks. “Really, the only thing that matters is the ACC,” Tar Heels quarterback Bryn Renner said. “This is when our season officially begins.” Part of the issue is the fact that the Tar Heels have recently opened league play against some of the ACC’s more established programs.
