UNC's Bernard shows he can bring the pain


In the preseason, UNC running backs and received the nickname “Thunder and Lightning” because Houston was tough and Bernard was fast. But Bernard didn’t love the nickname, if only because it implied that he wasn’t capable of bruising runs himself. Sure enough, as UNC drove for the tying fourth-quarter touchdown Saturday against Georgia Tech, Bernard showed both Thunder and Lightning. (Durham Herald-Sun)
