North Carolina adds 6-10 Joel James to 2012 class
Posted Oct 3, 2011
Four-star center Joel James committed to North Carolina, Scouthoops.com reported Sunday. “It was at one point Florida State and North Carolina,” James told Scouthoops.com. “Right now it is North Carolina. I called Coach (Roy) Williams a couple of days ago.” Rivals.com ranks James as its 61st-rated overall player. He is the third player to join the Tar Heels’ 2012 class. James, a 6-foot-10 center from Dwyer in West Palm Beach, Fla., joins longtime commitments in 6-foot point guard Marcus Paige, and 6-foot-6 small forward J.P. Tokoto.
