Time to officially welcome back the UNC, NCSU football programs
Posted Nov 30, 2007
The first season of re-energized football at UNC and NC State is complete. And it was a success, albeit a qualified one. Butch Davis and Tom O'Brien did what they were hired to do. Davis brought enthusiasm for football to Chapel Hill, where UNC has long treated the pigskin sport as a fall folly. Bill Friday, former head of the UNC system, can complain all he wants, but Davis' raise was justified in the world of big-college athletics.
