UNC vs. Clemson: '81 title could have been Tar Heels'

Perhaps the most important play during Clemson’s run to the 1981 national championship came late in the first quarter of North Carolina’s early October victory at Georgia Tech. Kelvin Bryant, the Tar Heels’ sensational junior tailback, was off and running once again. But Bryant came up limping, and with that UNC’s dream season was dashed while Clemson’s received a booster shot.
