Balmy weather split town Thursday, and North Carolina battled stormy weather during an NCAA hearing Friday, leaving the Tar Heels in dire need of football balm. North Carolina found it Saturday, rummaging through the Wake Forest first-aid kit for a 49-24 victory that guarantees a bowl trip unless the NCAA drops some heavy probation hammer much sooner than expected.
