Redshirt freshman tailback Giovani Bernard became the 15th Tar Heel to rush for 1,000 or more yards in a season as he gained 47 yards Saturday to push his season total to 1,012 yards. That is the 25th time a Tar Heel has gained 1,000 yards, and the first since Jonathan Linton in 1997. The Tar Heels rushed for three net yards, their fewest this season. (Tar Heel Blue)
