Matt Merletti Undergoes Successful Knee Surgery Posted Nov 9, 2011 UNC senior safety Matt Merletti had successful arthroscopic surgery to remove loose cartilage in his left knee Tuesday at UNC Hospitals. Dr. Alex Creighton performed the surgery. Merletti's knee ligaments were evaluated and surgical reconstruction was not required.
