Dascenzo: It's good to be Butch
Posted Nov 23, 2007
What a wonderful world to be famous enough, and coveted enough, that you can lose to East Carolina and get a big raise. Heck, you can lose by 27 to Wake Forest and be fine. Timing is everything. Today you can be Butch Davis, and coaching the Tar Heels in your first season, and you're going to get a reported $291,000 one-year contract extension increase. Never mind the team is 3-8 and a two-touchdown favorite to beat 1-10 Duke on Saturday. And never mind this is UNC's sixth losing season since 1999.
