North Carolina's returning veterans ruled the day in a 67-55 win over Michigan State on Friday in the first Carrier Classic on the USS Carl Vinson. Harrison Barnes scored 17 points for the Tar Heels in the Veterans Day extravaganza, the first basketball game ever played on an aircraft carrier. "It was even better than we thought it was going to be," North Carolina coach Roy Williams said.
