Moments after two F/A-18 Hornets zoomed over the deck of the USS Carl Vinson at the conclusion of the national anthem Friday evening, a North Carolina staffer nudged Tar Heel great James Worthy and posed a question. “Ever seen a flyover at a basketball game?” he asked, chuckling. Indeed many aspects of top-ranked North Carolina’s 67-55 victory over Michigan State in the inaugural Carrier Classic certainly weren’t normal.
