Heels Win Home Opener


No. 1 North Carolina won its home opener for the 79th time in 81 tries by pulling away from Mississippi Valley State for a 101-75 victory on Sunday. North Carolina utilized a 25-7 run midway through the second half to open up an 82-52 margin. Eleven different Tar Heels logged at least five minutes of action and eight played 14 or more minutes.
