DE Desmond Owino changes pick from N.C. State to North Carolina
Posted Nov 30, 2011
The Tar Heels landed a surprise verbal commitment from Desmond Owino last weekend prior to their victory against Duke. He became the 19th player to join UNC's recruiting Class of 2012 and second defensive end prospect along with Jessie Rogers from Arlington, Texas. We're calling this a surprise because just two weeks ago Owino had named N.C. State as his top school. But apparently he was swayed after taking to unofficial visits to Chapel Hill.
