Late FG sparks Jackets by Heels

UNC lost its sixth game by seven or fewer points yesterday when Georgia Tech’s Travis Bell kicked a 27-yard field goal with 16 seconds remaining for a 27-25. “It was a heartbreaker today,” Coach said. “I told the players in the locker room there is a lot of ways you define champions and one of the best analogies is that teams that refuse to give up, to surrender, teams that never quit. It makes a big statement about people.” (Winston-Salem Journal)
