UNC trustees formally approve hiring of Fedora as head football coach

The UNC Board of Trustees on Friday morning formally approved the hiring of Larry Fedora as the university’s new head football coach. Fedora will be introduced during a 1 p.m. press conference on campus. Fedora has agreed to a seven-year contract that will pay him an annual salary of $1.7 million per season. He will receive a one-time payment of $400,000 on or before Jan. 31, 2012. Fedora will also receive an annual expense allowance of $30,000. (Raleigh News & Observer)
