Before taking over at UNC, Fedora will coach old team one last time

Larry Fedora officially became North Carolina’s head football coach on Friday. But after being introduced in Chapel Hill, he got on a plane, returned home to Mississippi and got ready to keep coaching his old team. In an unconventional move, he’s been given permission – by both he new and old employer – to finish out the season by coaching Southern Mississippi in its Hawaii Bowl game against Nevada on Dec. 24.
