To the end, Withers’ focus remains on ‘the kids’

Even in the face of repeated questions about his successor and his possible future, to his credit, Everett Withers’ focus kept coming back to the same subject — preparing his students for their game against Missouri in the Independence Bowl. When he was asked what his first meeting with the players was like after Fedora was introduced as their new head coach, Withers said it was “nothing special.”
