North Carolina had practiced just once in the past week, the final one of the fall semester. And the Tar Heels hadn’t played a game in seven days. Still, there were few signs of rust here at the Smith Center on Saturday night for No. 5 UNC, which began a busy stretch with a 97-82 victory against Appalachian State. Tyler Zeller led UNC with 31 points – 20 of which came in the first half.
