Missouri hammers Heels 41-24 in Independence Bowl

North Carolina wanted to give Everett Withers a victory in his final game as the Tar Heels’ interim head coach, and UNC’s returning players also wanted to put on show for Larry Fedora, the man who will soon take Withers’ spot on a permanent basis. But UNC did neither here on Monday during a 41-24 loss against Missouri in the Independence Bowl.
